Portland Flower Show 2015

FLOWER POWER

Deadheading before show...'Slow down plants. You're flowering too fast!'

Has it REALLY been so long since I posted?.....goodness. I've been keeping busy... My husband and my mother and I installed a display garden and vendor booth at the Portland (Maine) Flower Show this past weekend. I started the plants for the show display from seed about this time last year so this project has been a while in the making.

It was terrific to reconnect with my landscaping peeps and talk to some really fabulous new people. All your kind comments were devoured and stored away for a rainy day. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We won four awards and were over the moon with delight. It's nice to have some success.....

This is what it looked like.

My hang tags...Tried to have everything branded.

Foxgrape Fritillaria!!
After the show.... Flowers everywhere in the house. New poly on the hoop house today and out they go.

Wow....a lot of work, but very satisfying.... Next year?

Fresh Easter Gifts

I found some fabulous containers for Easter gifts at Marshalls today. A search of our local big box home store turned up some fresh bulbs -tulips, mini narcissus and hyacinth, just breaking thru the soil. I think this is when bulbs are most beautiful. The energy, promise and potential is sometimes more interesting than the realized flower....Plants just make me happy. Best Easter wishes and dark chocolate bunnies to you.

Flora Grubb Boquet

The snow here in Maine is unrelenting. Ten sloppy inches this week and maybe more on Friday. Must....have....fresh...flower gorgeousness. (Say this like William Shatner). Floragrubb.com never disappoints. If you don't know about this West Coast floral genius, go to this site immediately! So fresh and uplifting. Happy viewing.
